Housing Assistant (12-month Fixed Term Contract)

Our client is an organisation that provides a range of housing and varied support services to vulnerable people. Their aim is to support people in achieving their full potential. They are currently going through a large period of growth and have a vacancy for a Housing Assistant.
Position: Housing Assistant
Location: Based in Exeter
Hours: 35hrs per week
Salary: GBP16,612 per annum
Benefits: 26 days' annual holiday rising a day a year for the first 5 years + bank holidays, Life Assurance, Pension scheme and an Employee Health Assistance Programme. Professional development opportunities and flexible working arrangements.

About the Role:
This is a key administrative role that involves assisting a busy Housing Officer with all aspects of housing management. You will be responsible for providing an efficient administrative service and support to the Housing Officers.
You will be visiting schemes and working closely with their residents providing advice and support so you should be an excellent communicator with an approachable nature and be capable of dealing with their tenants in a calm and understanding way.
You must be a self-starter with the ability to work on your own initiative and manage your own workload as well as having good attention to detail.
About You:
Applicants must have previous housing experience and some knowledge of rent collection and the welfare benefits system. As the role is predominately administrative you will have excellent computer skills with advanced Word and Excel skills and previous database experience. A full driving license is preferred.
