Our client provide a range of housing and day support services in a manner that promotes self-esteem, respect and independence to people disadvantaged by housing circumstances or social need.
They are currently seeking a Refugee Property Assistant to join their team based in Bradford to assist the Refugee Property Manager in sourcing and delivering suitable accommodation for refugees under the Association’s Managed Migration contracts.
Within this role your responsibilities will include identifying accommodation, assisting in carrying out property inspections, completing associated administrative tasks, placing orders for furnishings and preparing the properties ready for occupation by clients. You will also work with the Refugee Property Manager to assess properties in line with statutory and regulatory requirements, ensuring conformity under the Housing, Health and Safety Rating System and liaising with external landlords, agents and housing providers to ensure that accommodation is in suitable condition for handover.
The successful candidate will have experience of either working in a housing setting or within property services, facilities management or similar environment. You will have excellent verbal, written, ICT skills and have an understanding of housing standards and landlords obligations to tenants, housing management practice and knowledge of housing legislation. Ideally, you will have a qualification relevant to housing management, property services, building/facilities management or willingness to undertake training. It is essential that you have a full driving licence and have access to own transport.
