Who we are looking for

PwC is looking for new Senior Managers within our Insurance focused Technology Consulting team. We are looking for people with skills in Core systems transformation and also people with broader technology enabled insurance transformation experience.

The increased focus on transparency within the marketplace and ever-increasing regulatory requirements need to be addressed in parallel. Our Financial Services (FS) client base covers a breadth of FTSE100 organisations covering Retail and Commercial Banking, Capital markets, Insurance and Investment Management (I&IM). In the current economic climate, organisations are increasingly turning to PwC for advice on leveraging their business operations and sustainably developing their organisations in response to market opportunities.

Within this context, we have high growth targets and part of the strategy to achieve this is to bring in experienced hires to help our clients meet the challenges they are facing in the insurance sector.

About the role:

  • Within the field of Insurance Technology this is a senior level appointment for a Senior Manager to be responsible for:
  • Identifying client needs and proposing solutions to them;
  • Leading the delivery of projects;
  • Building relationships with our key Insurance clients;
  • Developing the careers of the teams working with and reporting to you;
  • Maintaining a consistently high and leading edge market profile.

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

Essential skills:

  • A working knowledge of the application and solution architecture choices within the insurance technology landscape;
  • Recent experience of core insurance package configuration and integration;
  • Experience in core insurance digital solutions
  • An accomplished practitioner in helping insurance clients construct application, solution and enterprise architectures
  • Understanding of cost-to-serve models
  • Practical experience of SDLCs and delivery models including iterative/RAD approaches
  • Experience of test management and delivery
  • Data Analytics
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & networking ability to develop and nurture contacts;
  • Individual, Social and Business Interaction - Flexible in using a range of influencing styles in order to build strong sustainable relationships, and demonstrating the firm's values;
  • Business acumen to identify client's real business needs which PwC can satisfy;
  • First class delivery skills of large, complex and multi-vendor projects;
  • Solid and articulate report, proposal and article writing skills to communicate corporate viewpoints on breaking news and technical publications;

Desirable skills:

  • Business Skills - Understanding our client's business and showing strong commercial acumen in the seeking out of opportunities and the winning of work;
  • Delivery Skills - The ability to use our industry and technical skills to better deliver practical solutions that are valued by the client, for instance the shaping and delivery of Service Oriented Architecture solutions;
  • Analytical Skills - Identifying and diagnosing client issues through rigorous analysis, including data analytics, rather than selling PwC solutions; and
  • Technical Skills - Knowledge of a subset of key packages used in the insurance industry - (eg General Insurance administration systems, Guidewire, Life and Pension Applications, London Markets systems, Salesforce.com, Pega etc)
