Responsibilities and Duties
As a Technical Lead within a busy Helpdesk and projects team, your duties will include (but not limited to) the following:
- Resolving 2nd Line Support requests directly from managed service clients,
- Proactive monitoring of managed backup, security, patching and automated alerts systems -
- Work on Project Design and Implementation together with the Technical Director, both Onsite and remotely . At times this will require working during unsociable hours such as evenings and weekends, and may require working away from home for several days.
- Performing advanced troubleshooting/analysis, which may include working with Microsoft and other vendors to resolve challenging, complex faults
- You will provide support and on the job training to other helpdesk technicians and be responsible for reporting and escalating faults to the Technical Director as per pre-defined parameters
- Actively review and propose improvements to existing processes, procedures, systems and services to ensure service delivery remains efficient, effective and industry leading at all times
Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (2003/2008/2012/2016) - any or all of these
- Networking Certification (CompTIA/CCNA/Degree) - not limited to these
Required Skills & Experience:
- Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016
- Windows XP/7/8/10 SBS 2003/2008/2011
- Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD
- Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010/2013/2016
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft Office 365, Including migrations (using Microsoft methods such as cut-over and hybrid)
- VMware ESXi 5/6 & Hyper-V
- Networking Concepts (TCP/IP v4 v6/DHCP/DNS/VLAN/VoIP/QoS/WireShark)
- VOIP Fundamentals and Troubleshooting
- Backup & Security Management
- Storage Area Networking (Fibre Channel and iSCSI)
- Server Build and Migration Experience
- Project Management and Delivery
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Draytek, Zyxel and Deliberant Networking Product Suite
- Microsoft Azure IaaS components (VMs, VNETs, NLBs) and Azure Backup/Site Recovery
- Amazon Web Services
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Network & Infrastructure Design
- High Availability Systems Design
- Disaster Recovery Design & Implementation
- Technical Lead Experience
- Wireless Networking (Radio 2 and 5ghz) using industry leading vendors (such as Cisco, LigoWave, Zyxel etc)
