ABOUT US
A rich heritage. An iconic brand. No other capital city is defined and shaped so much by its transport as London. Based in the heart of Covent Garden, London Transport Museum and its collections are a window into the past, present and future of how transport keeps London moving, working and growing. Not only are we the world's leading museum of urban transport, we are a spectacular backdrop for events - mixing old and new with dynamic displays of iconic posters, vintage vehicles and interactive displays - and a major educational charity working across the capital.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Chief Operating Officer you'll be responsible for leading the promotion and delivery of good financial and resource management throughout the organisation and for managing the Museum's planning, compliance, programming and governance functions.

You will lead the continued development of the strategic business plan, ensuring it incorporates both charity and commercial objectives: working as part of the executive top team, you will review the detail of the Five Year plan, drive its implementation and hold the businesses to account for its delivery.

You'll have oversight of the day-to-day performance of the organization, direct the formulation and delivery of the annual and longer term business plans and budget, and be actively involved in all material business decisions, ensuring that the immediate and longer term implications, and the opportunities and risks are fully considered.

Ultimately, you'll enable the Museum to realise its heritage and educational ambitions and achieve financial sustainability.

ABOUT YOU
This post requires a professional of stature who can focus on delivery, provide purpose and direction and get the best from people whilst also making a personal impact within a dynamic and fast moving cultural organization.

You'll have previous experience as a Finance Director/Commercial Director of a complex, multi-dimensional organisation. You will demonstrate strategic planning and budgeting experience, operational and project leadership, and excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.

We're looking for a natural leader who has the ability to challenge and evaluate existing practices to improve organisational effectiveness, maximise value from existing resources, and find opportunities to generate new and additional sources of funding is an essential.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Please apply by submitting your CV. Think carefully about the skills, knowledge and experience outlined in the job description and ensure your CV reflects the requirements of the role you are applying for. Short listing will be carried out on the basis of answers to any pre-screening questions and the information on your CV.

The closing date for applications is 28th February :59
