Quality Manager - Supplier / Production / Sub-Assembly

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with the market leader to deliver a range of some fantastic cutting edge technically advanced electrical products into the golfing industry .

As Quality Manager you will develop and harness quality processes to integrate an international supply base, which will allow the company to maintain its number 1 market status for reliability and quality . In addition to working at the company's HQ in Kent where their products are innovated , designed , assembled and tested, you will also embrace relationships with their Far East suppliers. This will include conducting quality assessments and process audits to maximize efficiencies in both engineering and finished product assembly .

The Role

The Quality Manager will be responsible for working closely with suppliers and the engineering & production / assembly teams in Kent to review and improve procedures and processes .

Key tasks

* Supplier liaison with respect to product quality and QM-Systems .
* Conduct supplier audits .
* Work closely with the Procurement and engineering departments.
* Develop and publish a robust QC checking procedure for goods-in.
* Work closely with the sub-assembly / production team to review and manage rejects.
* Implement quality process and systems, coaching and developing production staff on these processes.
* Provide regular reports to senior management team and board directors, deploying corrective actions when and where necessary.
* Work to ensure quality standards are achieved from product conception and NPI through to product assembly .
* Assess warranty claims and use this information to improve quality moving forward.
* Achieve a KPI of less than 2% product returns and recalls.

The Candidate

* Our ideal candidate will be an experienced Quality Manager within a mechanical or electronic environment.
* You will have experience of managing supplier quality through regular site visits and audits.
* An understanding of electronic components is advantageous.
* As is, previous experience of implementing quality standards and process procedures such as ISO 9001 .
* Computer literate including Microsoft Office particularly Excel.
* Understanding technically advanced products and highly engineered
* Analysing, assessing and utilising / manipulating large amounts of data & information.
* A strong problem solver with the ability to write and present reports.
* Excellent numerical and literacy skills with attention to detail.
* Results driven.
* An essential requirement for this role is frequent travel to China.
