Livability is the disability charity that connects people with their communities. We tackle social isolation and the barriers that can cause this in the lives of disabled and vulnerable people.

We are looking for full time support workers to join our friendly and dedicated staff team at St Ronan’s Road, Reading. 

We provide high quality support to people with learning disabilities to enable them to live life to the full. We develop and maintain good working relationships with other professional bodies and families to ensure the best possible care and support is delivered. We work closely with local GPs, psychologists, psychiatrists, speech and language therapists and community / learning disability nurses, epilepsy nurses, dieticians etc. to give tailored care to the people we support.

To be successful in this role you will be able to:

You will be required to help people live an independent life, supporting with personal care needs, participating in community activities and have an ability to work in a person centred way.

The ideal candidate will:
• Be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to connect and establish relationships
• Have knowledge of key legislation relating to health and safety in the workplace
• Have the ability to interact and identify communication and language needs, wishes and preferences
• Have the ability to recognize and reduce barriers in communication
