Group: Risk Management Group
Division: Credit
We have an opportunity for an entry level or junior analyst to join our credit team in London. This role will help facilitate the development of the various Equities and Bond trading businesses globally, though with a focus on the EMEA region. Additionally, the opportunity will arise for involvement in related activities including corporate lending, new product assessment and structured finance transaction analysis.
About the role
You will be responsible for the review of new counterparties (Funds, Brokers and Financial Institutions) and establishment of credit limits, as well as assisting with transactions early in the deal process, identifying key issues and co-ordinating the credit response. Present complex structures in a concise and clear manner, including making recommendations to senior risk management staff. Your role will entail monitoring trading exposures and limits, interacting with traders and responding to live trading requests. You will also be responsible for the negotiation of legal documents, ongoing and self-initiated monitoring of counterparty and industry developments and participating in client visits to gain a better understanding of the client's credit position, when required.
About You
You have outstanding qualifications, preferably with some application to commerce, finance, accounting, engineering, law or economics. You are a collegial team member who builds open dialogue-based relationships with clients, the front office and colleagues. You are a persuasive communicator (both written and verbal) with confidence when being challenged and have in-depth analytical skills gained preferably (but not necessarily) within a financial institution. You have strong commercial orientation and understanding of business and risk-related issues.
