Sales Operations & Business Performance Manager

About the role
We are looking for an individual with commercial experience in a business-to-business context, an aptitude for working with numbers and a strong customer orientation to work as part of the regional management team for Cambridge University Press’s English Language Teaching (ELT) sales department in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
As regional Sales Operations & Business Performance Manager you will collaborate closely with country managers in support of the key distributors through whom the majority of regional sales are made and whose performance, therefore, needs to be driven and supported to the maximum. You will also be responsible for monitoring and analysing the ongoing development of a pipeline of regional sales opportunities, recorded in the organisation’s customer relationship management system.
In addition, you will then help coordinate important administrative tasks that are vital to the effective management of this large and complex department and set of markets. Such tasks include annual sales forecasting and pricing exercises and the analysis and circulation of accurate market expenditure information.
As well as working closely with sales management in this role you will also work closely with various parts of the organisation including finance, supply chain, legal and compliance all of whom it is vital that the sales department cooperates well with.
What do we look for in a Sales Operations & Business Performance Manager?
Ideally, you will have experience of sales or key account management, be able to analyse and present financial information clearly and have some experience of working with legal contracts.
You will be able to demonstrate alignment with our behaviours and values and have the drive to achieve results. In particular, you must also be able to build strong working relationships across the relevant internal and external stakeholder groups with whom you will cooperate on a daily basis. You must be highly proficient in working with Microsoft Excel in particular and experience of working with the Salesforce customer relationship management system is desirable.
A certain amount of international travel will be required.
The role reports to the ELT Sales Director for Europe & MENA.
