Multi-skilled Engineer - Electrical bias

(Field Based)

Hours Mon – Fri 8:30 – 5:00 

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer, with an Electrical bias, to join our client's well-established team in Lincoln.  This is an exciting position with many different elements to the job, hence the necessity for the suitable person to have a combination of Mechanical and Electrical skillsets.  Your Electrical/Mechanical experience may have been gained within the security industry, or within access and CCTV.  You may even come from a Project Engineering background, within the security industry, and have a passion for problem solving and fixing machinery. 


This family business, operating since 1974, have an impressive portfolio of clients which not only includes an excellent customer base in Lincoln, but also clients throughout the UK. These include commercial organisations and domestic customers as well as national infrastructure sites.


Personal specification of Mechanical Engineer (electrical bias)


  • Proven experience with qualifications to prove competency (apprenticeship qualified, City & Guilds, degree)
  • Previous experience working within the security industry is essential
  • Excellent attention to detail, along with a willingness to take responsibility, work competently under own initiative and rise to embrace a challenge
  • A full understanding of electrical wiring principles
  • Experience in working with metal and wooden door installations, wood work/joinery skills, steel and fabrication skills is essential
  • NGC competency would be an advantage
  • BESC and offshore training would be desirable


Key Responsibilities of Electro Mechanical Engineer:


  • To install, maintain and service mechanical locking devices, doors and associated products and equipment
  • To install, maintain and service electronic access control and door automation systems
  • Visit clients throughout UK and present the company in a professional manner at all times
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and reports (the company is ISO 2015 accredited to CHAS, UVDB, MLA and Construction Line)
  • Be prepared to work and stay away from home (generous welfare and accommodation allowance provided, when required)


Full PPE and uniform will be provided, together with a work vehicle. Other benefits include holiday entitlement and pension.


Applicants from a Project Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Security Engineering, Factory Engineering background will be considered.


Living in the Lincoln area this is commutable distance for applicants from Sleaford, Boston, Market Rasen, Newark, Horncastle, Gainsborough and Louth.
