Hello, we're TSB, and we're different from other banks.

We don't do investment banking, overseas speculation or big corporate finance. We just serve individuals and local business customers - we call it "local banking".

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our mortgage portfolio management team as a senior credit risk analyst. The role will give you the opportunity to perform complex analyses on our mortgage portfolio and turn large volumes of our customer data into high-quality actionable insight. The role will also give you exposure to our credit risk strategies and involve you working with our risk managers to enhance credit strategies with a view to optimising the balance between risk and reward. In the role you would also work closely with other teams across the Bank such as Products, Finance and Operations.

Given the analytical nature of the role, the successful candidate will need to be highly numerate and have experience of working within an analytical function. Ideally you will also have a good knowledge of the mortgage industry, a keen eye for detail and a proven ability to deliver results.

The TSB mortgage portfolio currently contains over GBP26 billion of loan balances and we have ambitious plans to further grow our portfolio over the next few years. The industry is also continually evolving and responding to economic, political and regulatory change. We are therefore seeking a strong analyst to join our team to help us safely grow and protect our mortgage portfolio from credit losses in a dynamic environment.

• Responsible for providing high-quality analysis and insight into the credit risk profile and performance of the mortgage portfolio

• Assisting Manager to develop and evolve credit risk strategies

• Producing periodic management information in a timely and accurate manner

• Taking a lead in briefings for team members/stakeholders on progress of work, sharing insights, successes and opportunities

• Act as a point of reference on all data aspects of credit risk

• Mentoring of junior analysts, assisting in their development

CAPABILITIES

• A degree or higher in a numeric discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Economics)

• Experience of programming to manipulate and interrogate large datasets. SAS (including SQL) is preferred, but candidates with any programming language experience will be considered

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Understanding of credit risk and the mortgage market

• Comfortable with the delivery of complex analysis

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present data to a non-technical audience

• Highly motivated with a strong intellectual curiosity
