Head of Fundraising - Sport

University of Oxford

Salary: Grade 9: GBP46,336 - GBP53,691 with a discretionary range to GBP58,655 p.a.

This is an exciting opportunity to take up a senior fundraising position at the University of Oxford and drive forward an established and maturing major gift programme for sport.

Oxford can lay claim to some of the oldest sports clubs and most famous sporting fixtures in the world, including the Boat Races, the Varsity Rugby Matches at Twickenham, and the Varsity Cricket Matches at Lord's. Since 1896, it has produced no fewer than 283 Olympians, 15 of whom competed in the Rio 2016 Olympics, winning nine medals. It is also the only University ever to have won the FA Cup.

You will have a chance to contribute towards this enviable tradition of sporting excellence by raising funds both for new facilities at Iffley Road - home to the 'Dark Blues', and the historic site where Sir Roger Bannister became the first person to break the four minute mile - as well as for the University's 83 sports clubs. In so doing, you will have a direct impact on Oxford students, helping them to achieve their sporting goals and aspirations.

You will be joining at an exciting time. Last year, the University received its largest ever gift to sport of GBP12million. In addition, the first phase of the Iffley Road redevelopment, a GBP9.3million sports centre building, is nearing completion and will be opening in Summer 2018.

You will be a driven and focused team-player with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a strong track record of securing major gifts. Above all, you will have a passion for sport and student wellbeing. Although experience of fundraising in the higher education sector is highly desirable, individuals coming from the broader non-profit or private sectors will also be considered.

Please note that the official job title for this role is 'Head of Development - Sport'.
