Experience Children Support Worker (Male ONLY)

A heart warming and welcoming Children Service with an outstanding OFSTED reports is now recruiting for a Male Support Workers for their 4 bed Residential Care Home in Gloucester. You will be supporting children & young people between the ages of 8 to 18 year olds who have been in the care systems for various reasons. Your clientele will mainly be service users who have come from neglected backgrounds, traumatic situations, suffered from abuse, EBD and/or mental health and they may display some challenging behaviour.

Main Job Role:
- Risk assessing and care planning
- Offer therapeutic / emotional support
- Professional parental role
- Encourage them with future goals they would like to achieve

Qualifying candidates:
- Must have experience with Children OR Young People in residential care home OR residential / SEN schools OR Youth Club settings
- Must be a Male who is soft / gentle and energetic
- To get the higher salary, YOU MUST have a qualification to work in children residential care home. We accept the following qualifications: Diploma / NVQ / QCF level 3 in:
* Children & Young People`s Workforce
* Health & Social Care in Children
* Health & Social Care in Social Care Pathway
* Caring for children & young people
* Residential childcare
WE DO NOT accept Health and Social Care in Adults.

Contract / Terms:
- Salary with sleep is £19,760 - £24,960 per annum = £8 - £9 an hour (£16,640 - £18,720)
- You will do 1 - 2 sleep-ins per week paid at £60 per sleep = extra £3,120 - £6,240 per annum
- 40 hours a week on a 24 hour shift pattern plus sleeps (e. late 3-11- sleep-in - early 7-3) then finish (this counts as 2 shifts)
- 5 x 8 hr shifts a week so always have 2 days off together
- 7 week rolling rota
