I have a fantastic opportunity with NHS Digital for a Information Analyst . This role is a temporary assignment for initially 6 months with view to being extended thereafter. Monday to Friday and full time 37 hours a week.

As the central authoritative source of health and social care information, a significant part of the role of NHS Digital is to process information, including person identifiable information (of patients and of NHS staff) for research and health organisations for a variety of purposes.

The Data Access Request Service provides support to researchers, health and social care organisations, public health, local authorities, independent sector providers and commercial organisations in accessing data.

Reporting to the Business and Operational Delivery Manager you will be responsible for using SSRS to develop regularly produced management reports (including automation). You will also respond to ad hoc reporting requests made by the senior DARS team

You will operate with a significant degree of autonomy and will be able to prioritise your own work in order to meet organisational business objectives and key performance indicators

You will support the service leading on specific key work areas within the DARS process.

You will have a passion for excellent customer service in an environment that is committed to the proper governance and secure use of health and social care data.

You will work effectively on your own or as part of a team and will be willing to travel to different NHS Digital locations as required.

Lead delivery of basic HDIS (HES & SAS EG) training for up to 300 new HDIS users

Further develop an existing SAS EG introductory training course, tailoring for specific audiences such as Local Authorities and remote delegates

Engage high profile stakeholders (including DH, NHSE, PHE and NICE) to ensure the training is fit for purpose

Provide operational support for HDIS users with analysis queries

Support development of advanced training course

LEAD on monitoring and reporting for HDIS users by working with internal stakeholders to develop knowledge and expertise around audit and logging functionality available in HDIS2Investigating user activity on demand

Producing regular user activity reports

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Strong analytical and requirements gathering skills.

Able to present and explain results of analysis via written and verbal communication.

Good working knowledge and experience of databases including database interrogation tools, specifically SAS EG

Understanding of a wide range of data quality issues and the application of the appropriate data validation techniques.;
