Are you someone that wants to gain or develop overseas experience as a Chef?

We are currently looking for Chalet Chefs to come and join our teams based in France or Austria. You will join us on a full time, fixed term basis and will receive a competitive salary plus benefits.

About Flexiski

Flexiski is part of Travelopia, the worlds’ largest collection of specialist travel brands. Flexiski have been selling tailor-made ski holidays for over 30 years. We’re flexible to our core, getting clients to the mountains in the quickest, easiest and most convenient way possible, all whilst delivering an impeccable experience.

About the Chalet Chef role

All team members based in France should expect to drive company vehicles in winter conditions, carrying passengers to and from the slopes.

In addition to local resort driving, from time to time, we will expect all team members to be confident enough to run transfers to and from resort. This will involve picking up clients from local airports and safely driving them to our own run properties as well as our partnership chalets and hotels and in some cases, to other local resorts. This will involve driving in all weather conditions, on all types of terrain and may sometimes involve anti-social hours

In return as our Chalet Chef you'll be rewarded with:

- Comprehensive training

- Travel to and from Resort from a UK airport

- Uniform

- Accommodation

- All Meals Provided

- Travel Insurance

- Competitive salary paid monthly into UK bank account

- Opportunity for Progression across Travelopia brands.

- Free Equipment hire

- “season ticket loan” on lift pass

Main Duties of our Chalet Chef

- Cost effective planning and preparation of an exciting, appropriate and inviting daily menu including breakfast, afternoon tea, biscuits, canapés, and dinner party style evening meal including cheese and coffee

- Cater for special diets as and when required, sometimes at short notice

- Preparation of weekly food order within budget, and present at either the food deliveries and/or weekly shopping run down the mountain

- Train the staff to assist you in preparation and the competent delivery of full breakfast on chef’s day off

- Provide adequate staff meals every night except chef’s night off

- Constantly look to improve the dishes week-on-week

- Interact with the customers regularly

- Daily cleaning duties to maintain impeccable standards of hygiene in the kitchen. Ensure a thorough clean down is completed after each food service

- Provide weekly menu plan, daily temperature control logs and all delivery notes to the resort manager.

- Driving to the valley at least once a week for shopping, along with other driving duties if required.

Key Skills & Requirements of our Chalet Chef

- Proven catering experience for up to 15-40 people, ideally in a chalet environment but certainly in an environment where responsible for the complete delivery of the meal rather than individual components.

- Knowledge and experience of working in a commercial kitchen environment, managing budgets and stock and to be aware of standard hygiene practices

- Substantial experience in menu creation and budgetary controls

- Well organised and dedicated with an ability to be flexible and adaptable.

- Exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene on both a personal and professional level

- Full driving license preferred - confident driving in winter conditions
