Established in 1986, Make-A-Wish UK is part of the world's largest wishgranting organisation. We grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. A key focus of our strategic plan for 2018-20 is about how we can reach more children with impactful wishes. We are seeking to establish an ambitious program of activity to reach every child who turns to us for a wish. In order to reach every child and deliver a memorable wish journey we need to transform the life cycle of a wish. This role will have lead responsibility for establishing a new creative approach to the wish journey which is driven by the imagination of wish children and achieves maximum impact. To achieve this, the Director of Wishgranting will connect people, systems, processes and partnerships to build our organisational capability to reach every child who turns to us for a wish. Successful candidates will be talented leaders with significant experience of developing and delivering innovative and successful journeys driven by the needs of the user. This experience may have been gained from within a communications, campaigns, digital or other relevant environment. You will have an entrepreneurial approach, ability to lead and champion a culture of innovation across an organisation and an experience of challenging the status-quo to unlock ideas and new ways of working. Critical to your success will be your experience of leading people through organisational and cultural change. Importantly, you will bring a demonstrable and genuine commitment to the mission of Make-A-Wish.
