Software Engineer

Team: Derivatives Risk, Options Market Making

As a leading market maker across many regions and asset classes, Citadel Securities operates a large and diverse technology platform. Derivatives Risk Software Engineers in our Options Market Making group are critical in the continued expansion of Citadel’s Options trading desk.

Members of the Options Derivatives/Risk Engineering team work hand in hand with the business to develop and deliver Citadel’s next generation derivatives risk platform, while optimizing performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, maintain and support one of the world’s most powerful trading platforms while continuously improving performance, functionality and stability of the system
• Design, develop, test, and deploy elegant software solutions across the firm
• Partner with business leaders to define priorities and deliver custom solutions
• Analyze complex business and technical problems
• Make sound decisions proactively and in a self-directed manner
• Provide timely systems support for trading activities

Skillset Requirements:

• A deep passion for technology and software development
• In depth experience working in C++ and Java
• Sound understanding of large scale order management systems
• Ability to be on call for outages and issues
• The ambition to solve open-ended problems using analytical methods
• Sound understanding of multi-threaded application design and development
• Professional experience working with distributed systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills applicable to a dynamic coding environment
• Minimum Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or related field
• Prior experience interfacing with quant libraries
• Experience in open source big data technologies, such Apache/Nginx 
• Previous experience architecting and delivering distributed-systems
