JOB TITLE: Student Support /LLDD Support Officer
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP16,844.00 per annum
WORKING HOURS: 22.5 hours per week, term time only

THE COMPANY: Our client is a registered charity and voluntary sector training provider and a 'not for profit' organisation that has supported the training of young people and adults, and are currently looking for a Student Support Officer to work at their Academy based in Corby, Northants
THE ROLE:- Student Support Officer- Corby, Northants
This post is working within a team on an innovative programme supporting young people with special needs. The role includes supporting educational, personal & social development needs, providing pastoral support, mentoring, and motivating the LLDD learners to address barriers to education and employment
Key Responsibilities to include:- Student Support Officer- Corby, Northants
  • Support the educational, personal and social development of LLDD learners
  • Provide pastoral support, mentor, motivate and support LLDD learners to address barriers to education and employment;
  • Support the curriculum to meet the needs of the learner to promote active learning opportunities, encouraging active participation by learners, ensuring appropriate methods and resources are used within teaching sessions;
  • Attend and contribute to monthly team meetings;
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and the organisation's health & safety policy and procedures ensuring a safe environment for learners internally and with employers


Candidate- Student Support Officer- Corby, Northants
You will have a natural flair for working with young people with significant barriers and have a flair for relationship building, plus strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must as you will handle confidential information integrity and confidentiality. We are seeking a quick thinker with outstanding administrative and attention to detail skills.

Key experience essential for the role: Student Support Officer- Corby, Northants
  • Previous experience in a similar role working with young people is essential
  • Experience of working with learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities highly advantageous
  • Experience of mentoring, coaching and advising young people would be desirable
  • Relevant qualifications would be desirable
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
