Due to the success during ramp up of the new site we are now expanding our team and looking for experienced DC Team Managers to join this reputable company, working in the independent automotive aftermarket.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team which will support the setup of the new 215,000 sq. ft. Distribution Centre, employing state of the art automated storage and retrieval systems. The initial facility will be developed to pick up to 150,000 units across 37,000 order lines per day. With extension space the facility has the potential of handling in excess of 55,000 order lines daily. The facility will begin operating with up to 120 staff.

The Team Managers will be responsible for DC activities relating to accurate, efficient and timely processing of products in all areas of the warehouse, through effective management, motivation and development of staff.

The role
- Supporting the Management Team with day-to-day operations of the warehouse
- Provide management for a team of operatives, coordinate workloads, provide support to ensure the team delivers and monitor any issues
- Responsible for achieving productivity targets, KPIs, and ensuring quality standards are met
- Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards
- Communicate effectively at different levels, building a good relationship with the team and across the business with other departments
- Develop a good knowledge and understanding of all areas within the warehouse
- Responsible for people management including team development, reviews, recruitment and employee relations issues
- Ensure yourself and your team strictly follows the Health & Safety policies and procedures, fostering a culture of working safely

Skills and Experience
- Supervisory and Team Leader/Manager skills and experience, with the ability to motivate, develop and supervise others
- Flexible, adaptable and pro-active management style
- Good IT skills, in particular spread sheets and a knowledge of warehouse systems
- Good planning skills and able to meet targets and deadlines
- Experience in a semi-automated warehouse is desirable
