The Salvation Army Housing Association (SAHA) is an organisation that provides a range of housing and varied support services to vulnerable people. Our aim is to support people in achieving their full potential. We are currently going through a large period of growth and have a vacancy for a Floating Support Worker.
Position: Relief Support Worker
Location: St Austell, Cornwall
Hours: Flexible relief hours
Salary: GBP7.50 per hour
Benefits: You will have the opportunity to develop your mentoring and support worker skills in a unique Supported Accommodation Service based in St Austell, Cornwall. This role will provide role specific training whilst giving you the opportunity to shadow an experienced Support Worker to enhance your personal development in your chosen career path.

About the Role:
FreshStart is commissioned to work with individuals who have a current or history of offending and/or substance misuse. Clients can stay with us for up to two years where we will support them to develop the social and life skills they need to move on and live independently.
We are looking to develop our pool of relief staff and can offer shifts over weekdays, weekends and nights.
You will effectively support the management of an assigned caseload of clients contingent on the needs and preferences of the service user. You will provide effective support to current staff to ensure our clients receive the levels of support they require
You will possess clear understanding of the service delivery and resources available for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
You will ensure that all service users are given the security and support to maximise their independence, dignity and choice in accordance with the aims of the project.
About You:
You will need a patient and calm professional manner and a fair and non-discriminatory, non-judgemental approach. Proven experience of working with mental health difficulties and those who are difficult to engage is essential, as are good ICT, administration and communication skills.
The ability to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends and possible sleep-in shifts to support the whole service will be required. You must have the ability to travel effectively within the geographical location of Exeter and East Devon.
A Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Certificate will be required for these roles.
