Role: Resettlement Worker - Transforming Rehabilitation Salary: GBP21,015 - GBP22,066 per annum Benefits: Benefits include 30 days annual leave, the possibility of flexible working and significant opportunities for learning and development. The Shelter "Through the Gate" team is looking for enthusiastic Resettlement Workers with proven housing law, finance and debt advice knowledge to join the teams at HMPs Askham Grange, Humber, Hull, Lincoln, and North Sea Camp Shelter delivers a Resettlement service that identifies and addresses people's needs at the beginning of their sentence and in preparation for their release into the community. As part of this, Shelter delivers housing, employment, finance and debt advice and interventions and works closely with all other pathways to coordinate and deliver a Resettlement plan. This collaborative approach aims to deliver a holistic, coordinated, efficient and supportive approach to reducing the risk of future reoffending and empowering individuals preparing for independence. You'll play an integral part in this. Your key responsibilities: Deliver a professional, outcome-focussed Resettlement Service to offenders within the CPA Complete qualitative person-centred Resettlement plans for each offender on entry to custody and in preparation for release Carry out housing, finance and debt interventions - providing advice, identifying and addressing any areas of concern to achieve positive outcomes such as a home and financial stability Co-ordinate other pathway interventions via excellent communication skills, development of stakeholder relationships and referral pathways to appropriate providers Provide coaching and mentoring support to Peers in collaboration with Peer Support Officers Support employment retention, searches, application and CV writing as part of pre-release planning - signposting as appropriate to services in custody and the community. And what you'll need: Considerable experience of employment, housing law and debt advice A good understanding of the main issues affecting homelessness and offenders Experience of providing advocacy on behalf of clients to other agencies and authorities A proactive, client-focused and collaborative approach, great relationship building skills A good understanding of working within targeted services Good typing skills, proficiency using Microsoft Office applications. A full driver's licence and access to a vehicle with the relevant insurance is desirable.
