Client Details

A large 3PL based within the Bulk Milk Collection and Delivery based within the Logistics distribution and supply chain sector are looking for a Depot Manager - Milk Tankers to be based in Somerset.

Description

* Responsible for the day to day operation of the site
* To oversee over 110 X Tankers across the South West
* Improve cost and revenue position of the sites
* Formulate and implement strategies, policies and programmes across the operation
* Management of the site team, providing leadership and motivation
* Ensure adequate Health & Safety processes & procedures exist
* Ensure succession plans are in place for all key positions and undertaken regular coaching
with direct reports
* Develop and implement processes to provide adequate training to all employees which promote employee engagement.
* Ensure that the site constantly delivers high levels of service, to both internal and external customers
* Deliver the site budget, identifying, managing and escalating risks in a timely manner as appropriate
* Ensure timely resolution of operational issues, at all times minimising cost and effects on service
* Ensure that a consistent level of communication within all aspects of the operation is achieved
* Confident, tactful and persuasive with the ability to get the job done

Profile

* CPC - Transport Management Qualification
* Proven experience of managing a large transport operation at a similar level
* Experience within a tanker and bulk milk operation (desirable)
* A very 'hands-on' approach with a strong leadership and people management style
* Confident, tactful and persuasive with the ability to get the job done
* Have proven experience of running a busy depot in a temperature controlled logistics / distribution company
* Experienced in budget and cost management for a logistics operation
* Proven man management skills with the ability to coach and lead a large team
* Excellent spoken and written communication skills
* Excellent Presentation and negotiation skills
* Excellent numerical and IT Skills (Excel essential)
* Remains calm and focused under pressure

Job Offer

For the Successful Depot Manager - Milk Tankers a salary of cGBP35,000 - GBP40,000 will be available.
