TRUST GOVERNANCE LEAD – VENTURERS TRUST

VTG 10, SP30-33 (£26,822 - £29,323) and Benefits Package including Health Cash Plan.

37 hours per week, All Year Round.  The working hours require some flexibility to accommodate the needs of the role which will include some early morning and late afternoon meetings.

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017.

Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 700 staff.

The Trust is sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol.

The role of Trust Governance Lead offers the chance to drive the performance of our Trust Board, committees, and our local governing bodies which serve some of the most varied communities in Bristol.  The role provides an excellent opportunity to help shape and drive the arrangements for all layers of Venturers Trust governance.

You will be joining a highly innovative, inspirational and ambitious organisation, so we are seeking an individual with strong leadership skills who can realise the highest possible quality of services to support our educational vision, to enable the organisation to achieve the best possible outcomes for students.

The key purpose of the Trust Governance Lead is to provide strategic and operational leadership for all governance aspects of Venturers Trust, and to be responsible for the flow of information between the local governing bodies, Trust committees and the Trust Board.

An element of the role will be to oversee a team which includes the Clerks to all Local Governing Bodies.

The Trust Governance Lead will be the lead in the Trust for ensuring high standards of governance including the smooth and efficient administration of the Trust Board and its committees, as well as advising the Chair of the Trust Board on governance process and practice.  The Trust Governance Lead will oversee compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements and ensure the Trust Board’s decisions are acted upon and are in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association.

Starting salary will be between £26,822 - £29,323 p.a. dependent upon qualifications and experience.
