Senior Water Engineer / Drainage and Flood Risk

Opportunity:

I recently spoke with a client of mine who are looking for a Senior Water Engineer to specialise in Drainage Design, Flood Risk Assessments and Hydraulic Modelling. If you are an experience Consultant level engineer looking to take the next step in your career, or you're already a Senior engineer but would like to work on bigger and better projects, then this is the role for you!

Due to the current projects in their pipeline, they have the flexibility to offer 4 people this opportunity in 4 different locations - Reading, Bedfordshire, Birmingham and Cambridge! They are currently standing out in the market and working their way towards the leading consultancy in the UK.

A typical week:

You will be responsible for the development of high levels of drainage performance, reliability and quality. You will be working alongside the other FRA Consultants and undertaking your own Flood Risk Assessments whilst demonstrating a thorough understanding of current assessment techniques. You will be solely responsible for writing technical reports, efficiently and accurately.

Other aspects of the role will include

Providing assessment and design of foul water drainage systems and sustainable drainage, to the specification of the Highway/Standards for residential and commercial proposals. You will also be undertaking both 1D and 2D Hydraulic modelling utilising a variety of different software.

Qualifications & Experience:

• You will be working towards chartered status of either ICE or CIWEM.
• Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of current technical standards and guidance.
• Have experience of the preparation of evidence for planning appeals and public enquiries.
