ISG Product Operations is a world-class global team of dedicated professionals, performing a myriad of functions, all with a common purpose: to manage Morgan Stanley's Clearing and Trading & Client operational processes and deliver value to our clients in a controlled and efficient way. The broad organization partners closely with Sales and Trading to develop and implement new products and services as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. At all times we are focused on delivering quality service to clients both internal and external.

Overview of the Department:

Secured Financing Optimisation resides in London within ISG Operations. The group is primarily responsible for the financing / funding and optimisation of the Firms inventory. Financing Operations is a department of 17 people with the group split into 4 main areas:-
1. Equity Financing (5 FTE).
2. Fixed Income and OTC Financing (6 FTE)
3. Structured Financing and Clearing (3 FTE).
4. Projects / Management (3 FTE)

The Equity Financing group is responsible for the daily management and financing of the $45bn European Equity inventory. The Fixed Income book support and funds $35bn FID inventory as well having ownership of the non cash collateralisation of the OTC IM book (UMR triparty and bilateral). The structured team is responsible for more bespoke complex transactions as well as the efficient optimisation of collateral to cover the Firms centrally cleared margin obligations. There is close interaction with the BRM financing desk, together this partnership drives towards achieving collateral optimisation and efficiency as well as meeting regulatory reporting and funding goals.

Primary Responsibilities

The current opening is within the Equity financing team (5 FTE) whose primary responsibilities include:-

- Daily collateralisation of the Equity Triparty and bilateral funding obligations.
- Managing collateral efficiency and optimisation. Meeting and managing to LCR & HQLA ratios.
- Processing lifecycle events for secured funding and securities lending transactions.
- Build upon existing understanding of both Equity and Sec Funding products and processes.
- Develop effective working relationships with external triparty agents (Euroclear, BoNY, and JPMC) ensuring all parties are engaged on delivering collateral optimisation gains.
- Regression testing, feedback, and suggestion of business process improvements for new internal systemic enhancements.
- Interacting with Repo / BRM desks, both on day-to-day tasks and answering any ad-hoc trade related questions and new process flows and booking structures.
- Building and maintaining a strong network with all internal Operations clients - Cash mgmt., Position Services, Settlements. Interacting with other internal support areas such as BRM, Finance, Credit and IT.
- Implement business process improvements through LEAN initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the tasks while minimising risk.

Skills Required

- Previous Operations experience - previous cash Equity product and Repo / Collateral Management experience preferred.
- Financing knowledge:- Triparty financing, working with triparty agents.
- Strong communication skills:- can build internal and external relationships, able to articulate key messages succinctly and effectively.
- bachelors degree of equivalent
- Ability to pick up new tasks and functions quickly and work independently.
