Location: Herefordshire and Worcester
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: GBP20,000 per annum

The role of a Skills/Employment Coach is to inspire and help customers to be the best they can be.

You will be working with their customers to improve their skills and work towards their ambitions and aspirations???Nothing is impossible.

You will coach customers who are re-entering work or looking for their first job. You'll help them to overcome their barriers to employment and to secure a sustainable job.

Encouraging customers to open up and think about where they want to get to, in order to create an employment plan and take achievable steps to make this work; these steps may include voluntary work or training first.

What will it take to succeed?

- Well as a starting point - you'll certainly need to genuinely believe in people and their potential to achieve more.
- Familiar with employability steps and interview techniques, your ability to harness existing skills and help customers do more for themselves and each other will be second to none.
- With a good grasp and up to date knowledge of 'better off into work' and welfare reform, your ability to encourage their customers to make informed decisions and understand the transition that takes place when entering work will always stand you in good stead.
- A first-rate communicator, you'll be a natural when it comes to developing relationships built on mutual-trust and understanding your customers' aspirations, dreams and goals.
- Able to assess customer need and develop a personalised action plan with the customer that supports their aims, you will work in partnership with Job Centre Plus to compliment claimant commitments and improve joint working.
- Using your knowledge and understanding of how the modern recruitment world works across different sectors / industries, you will support customers through the employment journey focussing on who the main employers are, how they recruit and seek out current and future opportunities.
- Last but not least, any direct experience of delivering similar coaching and support services to vulnerable customers across a range of client groups would set you apart from the crowd.
