Role Profile/Job Description

Expanding specialist air movement and smoke control company are seeking experienced Project engineer to manage multiple projects from Design through to completion for smoke control & pressurisation systems. Both above ground and within enclosed carparks & Loading Bays.


Establish & maintain a sound customer relationship whilst seeking opportunity of maximising Profit and offering Sound, commercial control of multiple Projects located throughout the UK. This is a customer focused position and requires strong personality to ensure clear, strong communication. The roll involves installations of both mechanical plant and electrical services as such a good understanding of these fields along with work within the construction Industry would be beneficial.



• Manage projects in a professional manner ensuring that company name is held in high regard within the industry.
• Ensure Projects are dealt with in a commercial & ethical manner.
• Seek to maximise profitability both through sound purchasing and agreement of variations.
• Ensure the company is protected at all times through records & documentation.
• Ensure liaison with other departments to maintain customer support when needed.
• Provide support to sales if so required at pre-contract meetings.
• Ensure maintenance of health and Safety issues on site including provision of required Documentation.
• Purchasing of parts in line with site program on a JIT Basis.
• Manage site programs to ensure cash flow is maximised where ever possible.
• Carry out site visits as deemed necessary throughout the UK.
• Ensure customers do not have opportunity to penalise the company through fault of the organisation
• Manage and maintain new suppliers and quality of same.
• Assist in the technical requirements of systems in development and cost-effective solutions.
• Managing the Installation & commissioning of the groups product portfolio.
• Promote the groups products and services.
• Evaluating and resolving problems in a timely manner on and off site.
• Provide technical assistance to both internal and external clients.
• Management of Subcontract labour/resource
• Promote the Servicing/Maintenance side of the business.
• Working on a variety / multi projects within a short period of time.
• Attend external technical sales meetings as and when necessary.
• Manage time effectively between sites and the main office.
• Offering feedback on future product development, features and functions.

Desirable but not essential

• Previous experience in smoke extract and/or pressurisation systems, natural ventilation and/or smoke control systems.
• C&G, HNC, HND or Degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field of study would be advantageous. Experience in a related industry is always valued greatly.
• Experience with engineering drawings, 2D CAD and marking up of construction drawings for proposals would be beneficial
• Understanding of Construction Contracts.
• CSCS Essential, SMSTS, SSSTS accreditation
