Role Purpose

You will be responsible for executing the store sales plan on a day-to-day basis, driving the achievement of sales targets and a range of other KPIs through highly effective sales floor management. This role has a core sales focus to exceed the store performance plan by developing and motivating the store sales team, leading from the front and providing the highest professional standards of competency, drive and determination. You will continuously deliver coaching excellence to the sales team maximising all sales and up-sell opportunities and executing all customer interactions in line with the VOB framework. The role will fully support the Store Manager's strategic aims for the store as well as providing practical management duties whilst the Store Manager is not on site

Key Accountabilities

Sales and Care
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge to sell and coach others, ensuring effective sales execution to meet defined KPI's and sales performance targets including Mystery Shop KPIs
  • Effective sales floor management to maximise sales, cross sell and up sell opportunities from footfall and demonstrate the ability to steer sales performance through effective shop floor management (e.g. triaging sales opportunities)
  • Continuous achievement of team and individual sales targets and care goals by leading through example by actively taking on sales and care opportunities to support the team and overseeing excellence in customer experience on the shop floor

    People
  • Manage the team of sales executives effectively in order to optimise potential sales outcomes (i.e. support, coach, develop, direct) and work with the Regional Sales Coaches as required to develop the overall performance of the store
  • Take a lead role in coaching the store sales team to execute all customer interactions within the Voice of the Brand framework and demonstrate positive 'in the moment' coaching skills
  • Support performance improvement plans as directed by the Store Manager and report to the Store Manager on individual and team performance to ensure effective contribution to overall store performance management and demonstrate the ability to build rapport and credibility with the Store Manager to fully support the Store Manager in the execution of the store's sales plan

    Essential knowledge and skills

    Sales and Care
  • Manage effective handling of footfall acting as a gate keeper to direct customers to the right person
  • Continuous observation of the sales team's behaviour and sales execution on the shop floor and providing support and in-depth knowledge to maximise all sales opportunities including proactive selling across the whole brand portfolio
  • Take ownership as a first point of escalation of complex care issues

    People
  • Coaching and motivating of sales execs (informally through 'in the moment' coaching and formally through 1:1 reviews as directed by the Store Manager)
  • Work with the Store Manager to identify and deliver against areas for development relating to team and individual performance
  • Liaise with peer Sales Managers to share best practice across the national store network

    Store Environment
  • Oversee successful completion of scheduled operational activities delegated by the Store Manager to the sales team
  • Responsible for the compliant opening and closing of the store as required

    Other Duties
  • Manage any unexpected events in store
  • Deputise for Store Manager on days off and holidays and plan your own days off based on footfall and sales data
  • Any other reasonable duties as required

    Desirable Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • A strong desire to take a key role in a target driven sales environment and to lead by example whilst remaining at the centre of the team
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to gain trust and influence others
  • Highly motivated and comfortable working without day to day supervision with great organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to use sales performance information and determine a short term plan of action to drive sales and lead others to deliver
  • Always delivers energy, enthusiasm, determination and brings positive stamina to engage and motivate other team members. Communicates the value of individual contributions, promotes team harmony and participation and facilitates continuous progress towards team goals
