Having undertaken a project to transform the way adult care services are delivered in Wiltshire, the aim of our new reablement service is to support customers to regain daily living skills so that they can live independently in their own homes and communities.

About the role

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives. As a senior reablement support worker you will lead and supervise a team of reablement support workers and assist the registered manager to deliver a safe and effective service.

Working closely with Occupational Therapists (OTs) on customers' reablement support plans, you will have particular responsibility for matching support workers to customers and the monitoring of customers' progress and achievement of reablement goals.

About you

With a caring attitude, a friendly professional approach you will have the ability to work with staff and customers to achieve agreed goals. Excellent communication skills are key.

You will have a minimum of 2 years' experience supporting older adults or adults with physical disabilities and have a level 3 diploma in health and social care (or equivalent). You will also need to demonstrate previous experience of supervising staff.

As well as a comprehensive induction programme, on-going specialist reablement training and access to the council's other learning programmes will be available to help you fully develop in your career.

This role will require you to work shifts in order to meet the needs of the service including early morning, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. As travel across Wiltshire will be necessary you will have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

If required to work on a bank holiday, this is part of normal shift pattern and time off in lieu will be granted

An additional 10% of basic salary for those contracted to regularly work at least 10% of their weekly basic hours during late evenings (beyond 8 pm) and/or Sundays eg if shift worked is 2 - 10 pm but not 7am to 2 pm
