Photonics Test Development Engineer/Optoelectronics/Optical Fibres
Excellent opportunity with a leading developer of the optical fibre technology, looking for a Photonics Test Development Engineer to join the team. You will be
Designing, developing and implementing test stations for modular and full system testing of distributed fibre sensing products
Creating and maintaining test procedures and documentation to support product releases
Performing product testing, troubleshooting and performance verification
Liaising with design team to support service and repair
Ensuring continuous improvement and maintenance of production test stations
Supporting various production duties when necessary
Frequent use of the IT system
Adhering to Company's and clients' HSE requirements and local legislation at all times and actively promote safe work practices.
Candidates for this Photonics Test Development Engineer role should have a strong background in physics or engineering and preferably relevant industry experience in photonics/optoelectronics. This is a hands-on position and you will be responsible for leading and implementing product testing on advanced optical sensing instruments in a high tech environment. .
A degree level in Physics, Optoelectronics or Photonics is preferable.
Good background in photonics/optoelectronics (fibre optics, optical detectors, semiconductor lasers, optical amplifiers)
Knowledge on fibre optic distributed sensing technology is preferred
Experience in product testing in manufacturing environment would be advantageous
Experience in using electrical and optical test instruments
Experience in LabView would be advantageous
Proven fault finding and troubleshooting ability
Good interpersonal organisational skills
