Sussex Recruitment requires a Production Operative for their client based near Lewes. In this permanent role you will be required to set up and operate machinery for the production of components. The ideal person will be reliable, self-motivated, have a good attention to detail and a good practical ability. A driving licence is required due to the location of the business.
Key responsibilities
Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
Set up and operate equipment safely and effectively for the production of components.
Use a variety of hand and power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to complete the assembly of products.
Other assembly tasks including soldering and encapsulation processes.
Operate electronic equipment effectively for the testing of finished products.
Inspect and test parts and products as necessary, during or after assembly, according to established guidelines and quality standards.
Work under the guidance of Production Supervisor to perform and complete the assigned duties.
Assist in other areas if required to cover for holidays, ie: packaging, despatch and stores.
Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Production Supervisor.
Person requirements
Good practical skills, able to follow instructions to complete tasks.
Ability to work with some large gauge wire and occasionally lift loads of 20-25kg.
Attention to detail, conscientious, responsible and self-motivated.
Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and hand tools would be an advantage
but is not essential as training will be given.
Salary GBP7.50 per hour.
