Job Title: Front of House Security Officer (Bag Search/Static Guarding/Patrol)

Location: Kensington Palace, London

Salary: up to £19,095 per annum pro rata

Job Type: Permanent, Full time and part time hours (four days on, four days off rota)

The organisation is the conservation and education charity responsible for the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace, Banqueting House and Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland. They help everyone explore the stories of how monarchs and people helped shape society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

They currently have a number of vacancies in the Security & Facilities Department at Kensington Palace for Front of House Security Officers working a 4 on, 4 off, days-only shift pattern. There are a range of hours available. The main areas of work will be in the searching of visitors' bags entering the premises, static guarding in specific locations, and elements of patrolling work.

Working closely with the Security Team Leader, you will provide a professional, responsive, courteous and vigilant security presence in the Palace at a time when the security footing continues to evolve in response to Kensington's on-going role as a Royal residence and a busy visitor attraction.

The role, based at Kensington Palace, will help protect the people, premises and assets associated with Kensington and Kew Palaces in 5-Star style, as befits the Royal Palaces.

The ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent customer-facing skills, knowledge of basic security principles and preferably have experience of working in customer-facing heritage or corporate security roles. Evidence of relevant training courses is advantageous as is recent experience in dealing with emergency situations.

As you are likely to be one of the first staff visitors will meet, it is vital that you are well-presented, cheerful and friendly. It would ideally suit those with experience in the security industry that demonstrates self-motivation, self-development, reliability and the ability to work as part of a team while ensuring that HRP's many visitors are delighted with the service they experience while visiting one of the greatest Palaces ever built.
