About the role:

We are looking for a self-motivated Junior Laboratory Technician to join our Manufacturing team. The successful candidate will have exposure across our Manufacturing and R&D teams. You will be involved in testing, quality control and assisting in the production of specialised consumables for the CryoTEM industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely in a laboratory, maintaining excellent housekeeping whilst following appropriate safety, environment and risk management systems
  • Perform laboratory tasks following specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures
  • Produce reliable, accurate data and keep accurate records of laboratory work undertaken and results
  • Testing and implementation of production methods
  • Maintaining the equipment used
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings giving updates and feedback

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a research laboratory environment
  • Excellent laboratory skills and familiarity with analytical techniques such as absorbance/fluorescence would be a distinct advantage
  • Be organised and have an eye for detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is essential
  • Experience in the fields of SEM, TEM or thin film manufacturing would be desirable but not essential
  • You must be self-motivated, curious and creative, you will need to be able to work on your own initiative to follow protocols consistently and to produce accurate records
  • Excellent manual dexterity is essential, for manipulating small components
  • A pragmatic approach to problem solving
