Based near Cambridge, UK, TTP Labtech is a global supplier of innovative and enabling products for the drug discovery and drug development markets. Our solutions save time and material costs and simplify complex operations. We are natural innovators. We create, design and manufacture high quality, robust and innovative automated laboratory equipment for academic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology research.

About the role:

We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Electronics Engineer to join our research and development team. Working as part of focused multidisciplinary teams, you will have exposure to the full product life-cycle, from early stage ‘blue skies’ research and concept evaluation through to production scale-up and existing product support.

Our electronics engineers work on all aspects of the electronics in our products and new developments, with key areas including early stage prototyping, hardware design, embedded system design, firmware development and dealing with EMC/EMI and other regulatory requirements.

The breadth of the role ensures constant interest and provides good opportunities to learn and expand on existing knowledge. You will have plenty of opportunity to try things out in an environment where creativity and ingenuity are both valued and fostered.

This is a demanding but very rewarding position and is the right role for you, if you:

  • thrive on technical challenges
  • want to work on innovative product development
  • are passionate about technology, and
  • love electronics!

You will ideally have:

  • An excellent understanding of electronics fundamentals and the ability to apply this knowledge to real world problems
  • Analog and digital circuit design experience
  • Embedded system design knowledge
  • PCB design and layout experience, with a good working knowledge of one of the commercial design packages (e.g. Altium, PADs, Orcad)
  • Good prototyping, debugging and fault-finding skills
  • An understanding of EMC/EMI fundamentals and design best practices
  • A 1st Class or 2.1 BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering or other relevant degree course
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

You may also have:

  • Motor control experience (e.g. stepper, BLDC)
  • Sensor and transducer interfacing and integration experience
  • FPGA design experience
  • Knowledge of the ARM Cortex M3/4 series (e.g. STM32F2/F4)

Benefits:

We are based on the Melbourn Science Park, a lovely village location that is still only short commute from Cambridge, Royston and the surrounding areas. There are plenty of activities to get involved in from running, cricket, football, cycling to STEM activities with local schools.

We offer a competitive salary and a fantastic benefits package including: Private Medical Insurance, generous Pension Plan, Employee Share Scheme, Profit Share, CycleScheme, Childcare vouchers, discounted theatre tickets, discounted gym membership and excellent relocation packages.
