We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to work within targeted communities across Durham, delivering a series of projects that seek to improve neighbourhoods, health and wellbeing and environmental awareness.

Project Officer
Salary: Circa £21,000 per annum, pro rata (negotiable dependant on experience)
Based: Annfield Plain, Stanley Covering County Durham
Hours: Negotiable- full time/ part time

Sitting within a wider programme of community based initiatives delivered by Groundwork, this post will include the delivery of a variety of sessions, events and activities that enable local people to feel a greater connection with their community and the area in which they live, as well as understand how they can live in a healthier, happier and more sustainable way.

Based from The Greenhouse Business Centre in Greencroft Industrial Park, Stanley, just 10 miles from Durham and 15 miles from Newcastle, the Project Officer will benefit from a location with extensive free parking, high quality, eco-friendly office space and beautiful surrounding landscape and onsite cafe.

Essential Skills:

  • Passionate about working with communities and helping people feel more connected with the area in which they live.
  • Confident communicator, at ease in a variety of settings and with a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and with a commitment to partnership working.
  • Creative and energetic with a focus on delivering high quality engagement and outputs.
