Creating Better Futures', and demonstrate their core values. A key appointment in the new structure is the new Development Manager (Commercial) for West & Wales, based out of their Bristol office.

Job Description

As Development Manager, you will play a role in supporting the regional plans and have specific responsibility for managing regional opportunities / phases of development. This will include driving sites through the development process from site acquisition through to completed development to reflect agreed strategies.

From the outset, whether you are working with St. Modwen colleagues, consultant design teams and solicitors, strategic partners or liaising with other external bodies such as planning authorities, you will be expected to make a positive impact on these critical relationships and exemplify the high standards that St. Modwen strives to achieve.

You will support the implementation of the regional strategy for acquisitions, developments and disposals / transfers of schemes into the investment portfolio as well as liaising with the Construction and Asset Management teams to ensure compliance with the relevant business case.

An important aspect of this role will include utilising your personal network to support in the identification and securing of new development opportunities as well as working with internal and external communications teams and agents to market schemes and solicitors to successfully conclude transactional work. Helping to prepare submissions to the Investment Committee, supporting the valuations process, budgetary and cash-flow management, in partnership with Regional Finance, are also important elements of this role.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements for the role include:

  • A proven track record in the delivery of Commercial development opportunities and successfully negotiating and managing all aspects of the development, acquisition and disposal process
  • Experience of analysing commercial data to achieve the best outcome
  • An ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal & external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
  • The ability to manage your professional network in order to maximise its potential
  • Experience gained in a Commercial sector preferably with a developer or agent
  • A relevant professional qualification, preferably RICS
