European Tax Manager

Based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, our client is a global organisation looking for a qualified accountant to join them as European Tax Manager.

This job would suit an ACA/CTA or similar Qualified Accountant with demonstrable experience in UK corporate and indirect taxes with a keen eye for detail. Experience of working with any overseas tax regions would be beneficial but can be developed in the job. This individual will be responsible for driving forward proactive tax advice for the various stakeholders within the business and manage our tax compliance on a timely basis.

This company is a highly successful international business with a growing number of sites across the UK and significant expansion internationally. The business is a market leader in its industry and is continuing to grow its portfolio into new markets.

The successful individual will be a qualified accountant with a strong tax background but with experience in Commerce and Industry. An ambitious and forward thinking attitude is very important due to the expansion plans in place and the "consultancy" work that this individual needs to deliver to operations in different countries.

Duties will include:

Project work

• Research and advise on the tax implications of domestic and cross border business initiatives, with an ability to have a genuine impact on global operations
• Input into acquisition and expansion projects
• Work within tax legislation and published tax authority guidance on strategies to minimise corporate income taxes through application of regulations and planning

Compliance & Reporting

• Manage tax compliance
• Review statutory audit reports and work with internal accounting team
• Manage the timely and effective settlement of cash taxes

Tax Controversy

• Managing enquiries from tax authorities, in conjunction with local advisors

Financial Reporting

• Review the quarterly and year-end tax position of the European operations
• Coordinate and work with US Tax team on the global tax provision

Administrative

• Monitor legislative updates and technical guidance
