Structural Engineer
Employment type: Permanent, fulltime
Location: Warrington
Hours: 40 hours a week
Salary: GBP30,000GBP50,000 p.a. + excellent company benefits
Due to an extended period of growth, my client is now seeking a Structural Engineer to work from their office in Warrington, Cheshire.
The company
My client is a specialist Engineering Consultancy, working with clients across the world. They provide design support to major consultancies, contractors, and manufacturers to enhance structural designs to resist extreme load events, such as explosion and earthquakes. They have doubled in size in the last year and are currently working on many prestigious projects both nationally and internationally.
Responsibilities
Preliminary design studies for landmark structures
Detailed design studies in support of Design and Build contracts
Detailed design of novel facades
Advanced Finite Element analysis of structures
Computational Fluid Dynamics to determine the blast hazard on structures
Live blast testing of design solutions
Preparation of technical reports
Skills/ Experience
A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Substantial postgraduate experience and a sound grasp of steel and concrete designs
Chartered Engineer status MICE or MIStructure
Ability to lead teams and work with clients to develop innovative solutions
Commercial acumen
Experience within blast/ seismic assessment and design is desirable, but not essential
