£22,023 - £23,634 per annum

37 hour week

The Council is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join their ICT team as ICT Technical Support Officer. This is a Second Line Desktop/Infrastructure role located at the Rushcliffe Arena, West Bridgford supporting approximately 300 Users across the Council.

This role is varied and exciting, offering exposure to enterprise systems and technologies used in many medium-to-large sized organisations. It’s a great career opportunity for the right candidate; you might currently be operating in a second-line desktop role with limited scope, and be ready for exposure to backend infrastructure technologies. You will have previous experience of working in a customer-focused environment and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to own, diagnose and resolve user problems and technical faults quickly and accurately is essential.  A full driving licence is essential for supporting remote sites.

Main Duties:

The main duties of the post will be to provide an effective and efficient second line support service to all our internal customers, and provide support for our Datacentre consisting of Networking, Virtual and SAN technologies. You will have previous technical experience in the following:

  • Microsoft Windows 7 and above
  • MS Office 2010 including Outlook 2010 or above
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft SCCM
  • Firewalls and Web filtering/Proxy Server
  • Networking
  • Ideally to have previous experience of Council software applications

Additional responsibilities include providing second-line support for applications at a server, network switch and router level, and system upgrades and project work.

Police Vetting is required for this post.
