Electrical Installation Technical
Electrician / Approved Electrician
1. General installation, maintenance and updating of Equipment requiring a detailed knowledge of complex systems and practices, conforming to relevant Defence Standards and Specification, Drawings, IEE and Safety Regulations.
2. Specific installation and wiring of equipment ( commercial and military) using a variety of termination methods and line checks to associated cabling and within defined timescales. To include installation, repair, testing and fault finding of fibre optic cabling and data networking systems.
3. Technician's responsibility to liase with site management and staff to ensure that all cabling, metal work and ancillary equipment is fitted and manufactured to enable the installation to be carried out to completion, meeting required standards and timescales working around site operational requirements.
Successful completion of the following is beneficial:
?? 17th Edition IEE Regulations (City &Guilds Certificate)
?? Fibre Optic Training (City & Guilds Certificate).
?? PASMA Tower Training.
?? Mobile Elevating Work Platforms.
?? Suspension Trauma and Resuscitation.
?? Manual Handling Awareness Training.
?? Working at heights.
?? Fork Lift trucks operators course.
?? Fire Risk Assessment Course.
?? FW Marsh health and safety training is mandatory
Background and experience in MOD Equipment Installation, domestic systems installation and commissioning.
Familiarity with RADHAZ, electrical safety.
AP Confined Spaces - Responsible for directly controlling the entry into a Confined Space. This entails implementing a safe system of work & operation for both resident and outside contractors ie, providing Risk Assessments, Method Statements and issue and closure of Permit - to - Work.
Security Clearance - (SC) Cleared
Transport - Own transport
