JOB TITLE: Assistant Manager

SALARY & BENEFITS:GBP18,070 - GBP20,138

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week

THE COMPANY: 'The Centre' is a Big Lottery funded purpose-built building for the community of Brinsworth,Rotherham. It is community owned and managed by "Brinsworth Community Trust' and
will act as a focal point for community activities. The Centre is anticipated to open in the
summer of 2018 to serve Brinsworth and district communities and, through local partnership
working, aims to deliver activities and services to meet community needs. The Parish
Council and Brinsworth Community Trust are seeking to appoint to the following roles.

THE ROLE: The Assistant Manager will support the Centre Manager to carry out their role in line with the requirements of the Board of the Trust. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for supporting the day-to- day running of The Centre to maintain the visitor experience and enhance the business performance.

The Assistant Manager will play a key role in ensuring that The Centre is a vibrant, well run facility
for all users on a day-to- day basis. The prime focus for the role holder is to ensure the efficient
running of The Centre and to support the Centre Manager to achieve the requirements set out by
the Board of the Trust, the Parish Council and The Big Lottery in building the sustainability of this
new community venture.

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Centre Manager
  • To organise and lead events, conferences, meetings and parties (up to c.200 guests) ensuring that these run smoothly from booking to completion.
  • Ensure that the Bar and Caf?? are run efficiently on a day-to- day basis and are adequately
  • staffed and stocked as required.
  • Management of staff and volunteers
  • To support The Centre Manager in their responsibilities

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Assistant Centre Manager role will be a community minded individual who has the ability to multi task and support management. You will be able to manage/understand financial systems and have excellent IT skills.

You will need to have some experience of working with community groups in a paid or voluntary capacity and demonstrate an understanding and experience of stock control.
The continued success of The Centre will depend heavily on the commitment and contribution of the
Assistant Manager and their ability to communicate effectively with all users, colleagues, partners
and Trustees.

As part of the Parish Councils recruitment process, you will be required to complete a standard application form.

Key experience essential for the role:
  • Previous experience of working with community groups
  • Live within a commutable distance of Rotherham
  • Experience of supervising and supporting staff
  • Demonstrate an understanding and experience of stock control.
