A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join a long-standing and market leading construction company. Based in Maryport, Cumbria, the successful Project Manager will earn a highly competitive salary.

The company was originally founded in the 1830’s and was managed by four successive generations of the founder’s family. Since then, it has expanded and diversified hugely and has landed multi-million pound contracts with the likes of Center Parcs and Lidl (to name a few). As a site based Project Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the completion of a construction project on time and to the complete satisfaction of the client. Key duties will include:
  • Responsibility for all site operations and efficient management of the construction process
  • To resolve any immediate issues that arise, liaising closely with the client and keeping all parties fully informed
  • Management and co-ordination of directly employed resources and sub-contractors
  • To ensure compliance with all company Health & Safety procedures at all times
  • To represent the company at monthly progress meetings and liaise with the contracts manager to provide senior management with project information.
To be considered for the role of Project Manager you must have experience in a similar role and have both soft and technical project management skills. In addition, the following key skills and experience are essential:
  • Experience of dealing with clients
  • A full driving licence
  • The ability to work alone under own initiative
  • The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with customers and contractors on-site
  • Must have an eye for detail
  • Ability to work to close deadlines and under pressure
