JOB TITLE: Clerk / Responsible Finance Officer
LOCATION: Barlborough, Derbyshire near Sheffield
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP21,221- GBP31,754 pro rata
WORKING HOURS: Part time, 20 hours per week which will include evening meetings and occasional weekend work.
THE COMPANY: Our client is a busy Parish Council. We are currently recruiting for a Clerk / Responsible Finance Officer to join their team in Chesterfield, Derbyshire near Sheffield.
THE ROLE: Duties for the Clerk / Responsible Finance Officer role in Chesterfield, Derbyshire near Sheffield will include;
• Being responsible for the effective management of a busy Parish Council
• Work will involve all aspects of the Parish Councils legal and administrative management in order to fulfil and implement the functions of the Proper Officer of the Council.
THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Clerk / Responsible Finance Officer position will meet the below criteria:
Key Experience/ Characteristics essential for the Clerk / Responsible Finance Officer position based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire near Sheffield:
• Experience in all aspects of committee management including preparation of agendas, reports, minutes and presentation of specialist information
• Knowledge and experience of Parish and Local Government law and procedures
• Have a good understanding and experience of Councils Health and Safety and risk assessment obligations
• Proven staff management skills including managing external contracted staff
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven event management skills
• Experience of Responsible Financial Officer duties
• Strong IT skills including experience of dealing with all forms of social media
• Hold a recognised local government qualification
• Hold a valid driving licence
