This company is a Fintech 100 firm and helps organisations improve engagement with customers by providing innovative digital financial solutions.
The office is based in Central Winchester but with flexibility to work from home, with intermittent travel to clients premises or to other company locations in Europe
The Role:
They are looking to appoint two high calibre SQL Developers to be responsible for the performance of the database as well as development, design, building, documenting and associated technical support.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments,
concentrating mainly on development.
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Occasional support release deployment activities after hours.
- Look after the best practice for the database, looking at indexes, backups and restores.
The Candidate
An experienced (3-5years) SQL Developer, a good communicator who excels at delivering excellence is required. The candidate will have the responsibility for ensuring that the database performs to its maximum capacity whilst working in conjunction with the development team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of SQL experience. We are flexible and willing to consider candidates with
5+ years of experience.
- Experience in query optimisation and performance tuning.
- Experience of developing and deploying low latency, scalable and high-performance
databases.
- Strong database and SQL development skills and experience with building financial services
databases.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving abilities.
- Good experience in troubleshooting existing SQL code.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and
collaboratively with development teams.
- A good knowledge of agile methodologies.
- Oracle knowledge as well as C# experience/knowledge would be an added benefit.
