Transport Supervisor

They have a new exciting opportunity, not to be missed! They are currently looking for a Transport Supervisor to join their dynamic team based in the centre of Bristol. The successful candidate will be joining them on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities of their Transport Supervisor will include:
You will manage all employees employed within your defined area of responsibility and ensure a high level of motivation, discipline and morale is maintained and that individual potential is encouraged and developed where possible through regular reviews and training, both on the job and formal, depending on individual circumstances, by:
- Ensuring that all Company Health & Safety and Employment policies and procedures are complied with in a fair and consistent manner at all times.
- Ensuring that regular meetings / toolbox talks take place with employees to encourage feedback and to share new ideas in a consistent manner.
- Ensuring that the Performance Related Bonus scheme is operated fairly and consistently within the scope of rules that are currently in force and making the appropriate reductions where necessary using the correct form and ensuring the employee is notified of any deduction made.
- Ensuring all accidents and injuries are reported promptly and correctly and that any follow up actions are implemented in a timely way.
- In conjunction with the Workshop Manager ensuring that all vehicles are checked and maintained in a fit and road-worthy condition at all times in accordance with the Company's Goods Vehicles Operator Licences.
- Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures including health & safety and employment.
- Manage all aspects of driver/vehicle work on a daily basis

Key Skills & Experience required by our Transport Supervisor:
- Educated to C, G, standard as a minimum
- Certificate of Professional Competence or a willingness to complete a course of study in a short space of time.
- Full clean driving licence, with LGV Class 2 entitlement essential.
- Ideally have 5 years experience working within the transport/waste management industry in a supervisory position with proof of success and effectiveness.
- Computer and IT Literate with a good understanding / working knowledge of the Word, Excel and Outlook programs.
- Strong leadership skills to enable motivation of subordinates in order to achieve success at the depot.
