Our client is a highly regarded and reputable firm of Independent Chartered Financial Planners and has been providing expert tax and financial planning since 1898. A vacancy has arisen for an Executor & Trustee Executive on a full-time basis in their Worthing office in West Sussex.
The role of the Estates team is to serve clients by assisting them with Will, Estate Administration, Trust Administration, Inheritance Tax and Power of Attorney matters, including drafting of Will documents.
This is a client facing role where the ideal candidate will be in a position to offer advice on Wills with the compulsory use of a software system (Express Wills), produce Will documents for clients to review and sign.
Similarly, the company provides advice on Powers of Attorney and their preparation.
When a client dies, the E&T Executive is expected to be in a position to meet the family and talk through with them the steps required to obtain a Grant of Probate, meet all taxation obligations and distribute the funds under the terms of the Will. Where that distribution is to a Trust, the E&T Executive will be expected to be able to administer that Trust taking care of liabilities to income Tax, capital gains tax and inheritance Tax, including minimising those liabilities, where possible.
It is envisaged that after integration and training on specific systems and practices within the office, the executive will be in a position to take full responsibilities for their clients, with no direct supervision.
Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners membership would be useful but not essential. They anticipate that the candidate will have been in a similar role within a bank, accountancy or solicitors office. The only additional aspect not often seen in similar roles is that the company's client base is partly comprised of non residents, so there will be a greater exposure to foreign law and domicile matters than is generally the case, although they do not expect past experience on these aspects. Lead generation is via the other units within the group and their clients are high net worth.
The office location is Worthing, West Sussex, in an open plan area. Some UK travel will be anticipated. Salary is GBP30,000 - GBP35,000.
