Head of Organisational Development and Learning Position: Head of Organisational Development and Learning Location: Worthing, West Sussex Job Type: Full Time, 2-year Fixed Term Contract Hours: 35 hours per week Salary: GBP45,159 per annum Closing Date: 12pm Monday 26th February 2018 Proposed Start Date: As close to 1st April 2018 as possible About the role: As the Head of Organisational Development and Learning you will work as a senior member of Guild Care's operational management team reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. You will provide specialist expertise to the Executive and Operational Management Teams in the development of organisational culture, performance management, leadership, employee engagement and all aspects of organisational change and development. Responsibilities: - Lead, direct and supervise a team of staff providing training in line with Guild Care business requirements. - Keep abreast of the legal, regulatory and 'good practice' developments within the sector, ensuring that these standards translate into Guild Care practice at the earliest opportunity. - Be responsible for the development and delivery of Guild Care's training and development strategy and its alignment with the organisation's model for excellence - Develop effective links and network with relevant organisations such as Skills for Care, NHS Trust, local colleges and providers of education - Build and maintain an up to date knowledge of learning and development best practice within the care sector environment - Establish mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training working collaboratively with all services to identify best practice and make improvements to ensure high levels of service provision - Present training, facilitate workshops and lead working groups / action learning sets - Develop and coach all team members providing ongoing support and ensuring that there is the right mix of skills within the team to deliver our in-house training - Assist operational managers in developing and delivering appropriate training to their staff teams in line with unit business plans - To undertake and regularly review Training Needs Analysis ensuring that they inform the training and development opportunities required to meet service needs. - To ensure all legislative and mandatory training is adhered to and carried out effectively and efficiently. - To develop effective relationships with internal and external customers supporting the needs of training throughout Guild Care. - To support services across Guild Care through appropriate Training initiatives. - Ensure that Guild Care utilizes effectively the Apprenticeship levy to support workforce development initiatives - Lead in the development of organisational career pathways supported by access to appropriate qualifications such as QCF's to enable all staff to develop their potential to become future senior leaders of Guild Care - Establish and sustain professional student placements, for example Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers Essential Skills / Experiences: - Previous leadership and management experience of working in a senior training and development role - Substantial experience of designing and delivering development programmes for all levels of employees to meet operational needs, preferably within a social care or health care environment - Experience in the design and delivery of organisation wide change management programmes - Experience of policy development and implementation - CIPD qualified or equivalent training qualification - Satisfactory DBS Check Desirable Skills / Experiences: - Experience of working within the care sector - A management qualification or equivalent experience - Previous experience of developing customer service charters and supporting training and development You may have experience of the following: Head of Development and Organisational Learning, Head of Development, Head of Learning, Head of Learning and Development, Learning and Development Manager, L&D Manager, L&D, Learning and Development, Organisational Development Manager, HR Manager, Head of HR, Organisational Development, CIPD, OD, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, NFP, Not for Profit, etc. This vacancy is being advertised by EasyWeb Recruitment, the UK's leading Online Recruitment Agency.
