They are a small but busy payroll bureau and the successful candidate will be a vital member of the team and will become involved in all aspects of the business.
Your main day to day activities and responsibilities would include, though not limited to:
Job Role
- Manage all aspects of various client payrolls from start to finish
- Complete all year end procedures within a narrow time frame
- Ensure compliance with all RTI requirements
- Develop and maintain good relationships with your colleagues, clients and other necessary contacts
- Provide clients with high quality advice on payroll related matters over the phone or by email
- Administer Pension Auto Enrolment
- Continually review payroll processes and internal procedures seeking to identify potential improvements
- Have a sound knowledge of all necessary legislative and technical areas and keep up to date with changes and new developments
- Quickly acquire a working knowledge of our payroll software & other systems
- Strive to ensure at all times our clients receive the highest levels of service
Personal Specification
The successful Payroll Officer should be able to demonstrate they possess the following key skills:
- Must be a committed and strong team player
- Have a resolutely positive attitude and a warm & friendly personality
- Be organised, accurate and have excellent attention to detail
- Have excellent scheduling and time management skills, be able to work under considerable pressure and be able to work to strict deadlines
- Be highly numerate and have excellent written and oral communication skills with a pleasant and confident telephone manner
- Continually review practices and procedures seeking out improvements
- Have good general IT skills and be proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and Acrobat
- A resolute determination to have a successful career in payroll
Starting Salary between £18,000 to £25,000 rising to £ 31,000 dependent on previous experience, performance and qualifications. Post would suit someone with previous payroll experience or a graduate from college or university looking to develop a career in payroll.
