Working in the Childcare Department and reporting to the Childcare Service Manager, you will act as the Senior Play Leader for before and after school clubs. You will plan and deliver sessions, supervise staff, and liaise with the school and parents. In addition, you will deliver coaching and activity sessions for allocated groups within our YMCA Day Camps.
Key areas of work will involve growing the childcare provision, co-ordinating the childcare provisions walking buses, and helping with the promotion and marketing of all our children and families provisions. With practical experience of working with children aged 4 to 16 years, you will be confident in delivering high quality engaging lessons to children of differing abilities.
We are looking for a qualified candidate with experience of managing a successful childcare/early years provision. Acting as an ambassador of the YMCA, you will be dedicated to working as part of a team with colleagues, parents, guardians, teaching and support staff.
Resourceful and adaptable, you will possess excellent leadership, team building and planning skills. You’ll excel in your knowledge of standards and inspections, learning and developmental stages and health and safety issues.
An effective communicator with children and young people, you will demonstrate excellent child behaviour management skills. You will be committed to equal opportunities, and able to deploy a variety of strategies and practices to promote diverse cultural and equality issues.
If you are passionate about inspiring and motivating children and their families to achieve the best they can, we would love to hear from you.
As your contribution to the success of our YMCA evolves, we’ll support you with training and opportunities for development. We provide a significant programme of workplace benefits including YMCA gym membership, volunteer leave, green travel loan scheme, and access to support for childcare or transport or health cash plans.
This post is subject to a DBS check at an Enhanced level and registration to the Update Service, (which we will pay for).
Please note we are unable to accept CV’s unless accompanied by a standard application form.
