Become part of People's Postcode Lottery's team!
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking, dynamic organisation where we understand that people are our greatest asset. Perhaps that's why our team voted us one of the Sunday Times Top 100 small companies to work for in 2016! Our core values are fun, sharing, courageous and sustainable which are reflected in everything we do.
We recognise and reward hard work and performance, offering a variety of benefits and career progression opportunities. This includes a generous pension and private healthcare scheme, an above average holiday allowance, discounted gym membership and fresh fruit in the office! We encourage you to spend two days each year volunteering with our charity partners and we are committed to investing 4% of salaries into training each year.
What we do?
As the world's top fundraising private charity donor in 2016, giving back to good causes is our mission. We manage multiple society lotteries promoted by different charities supporting a wide range of causes.
People's Postcode Lottery manages multiple society lotteries on behalf of a range of charities including 18 grant-giving Trusts. To date (February 2018), players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over GBP263 million for good causes. A minimum of 32% of the ticket price goes to charities and good causes.
14 of 18 Trusts award funding to charities involved in specific themes and give regular annual grants of up to GBP600,000 each to over 60 charities.
Three other Trusts also run open application grants programmes, with players having supported over 2500 community groups, good causes and charities across Britain since 2009. In addition, Postcode Dream Trust has a GBP2 million Dream Fund designed to be the catalyst for innovation and collaborative projects. As player numbers increase, more charities will benefit from lottery funds.
Role Summary
Charities are at the heart of the organisation and this position is crucial in helping to deliver the wide- ranging, exciting and incredible work funded by our players.
Working with operational responsibilities for the management of the grants including review and monitoring programmes in the fields of Equality, Education and Human Rights and general International Development. You will ensure that, as part of the third largest private charity funder in the world, we play our part on the international stage. Our impact is focused on four keys areas; collaboration, capability, capacity and leverage. We are a true partner to our charities and our relationship is far more than just funding.
You will have knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit sector both in Great Britain and internationally to anticipate where we should award our players' funds next and understand where we could add value. It's crucial that you have a positive approach and the ability to lead discussions at the highest level. While we always will safeguard our players' funds, we also won't shy away from being ambitious, innovative and unique in the way we fund. You will need to embrace and contribute to this approach.
Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, this year funds raised by our players for charities are anticipated to increase. With this growth comes greater responsibility.
We are committed to ensuring that our players remain connected with the causes they help support. As a funder, we also remain faithful to our funding principles and ensure that we are an enlightened partner in our efforts to make the world a better place for people and planet.
